Hockey fans hoping to secure Winter Classic tickets may eventually have more opportunities to experience outdoor NHL games. While the 2014 Winter Classic is still slated for January 1 between the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, the league is discussing plans to expand its outdoor schedule in the coming years. Though no decision has been made, additional locations have already been floated around. Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts has been mentioned as another likely spot for a future outdoor game. Though the Boston Bruins have already hosted a Winter Classic Game, in 2010, the matchup at Fenway Park was very successful, and Boston continues to be one of the best hockey markets in the U.S. The question is, should the league host more than one outdoor hockey game every year?

Last All-Star Game for Celtics’ Garnett
Kevin Garnett has added a bit of intrigue to this weekend,
not only to fans with NBA All Star tickets, but to basketball fans across the
globe, as he claims this will be his final All-Star Game. While the 14-time
All-Star is probably not going to hang up his sneakers at the end of the
season, he has vowed that the game in Houston will be his final All-Star
appearance. Garnett has been a staple of the both the All-Star Game and the
league since being drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995, coming to the
Boston Celtics in a trade in 2007. One of the greatest and most competitive
players in league history, he won the MVP award in 2004 with the Timberwolves,
and helped the Celtics win the NBA Championship in 2008. Garnett has slowed
down to a degree in recent seasons, but he has remained remarkably effective
despite reaching the 1,300 game plateau earlier in the season. He seemed to
find new life last year after switching to center full-time, allowing him to
avoid chasing younger power forwards around the perimeter on a more consistent
basis.
